    v4.1Latest

    Brand-matched

Capture reads a page's accent colors and builds the background from them, the API can produce whole screenshot sets in one call, the free tools move onto the same editorial shell as the rest of the site, and cookie banners are cleared before the shot is taken.

    • CaptureBrand matching: the capture pipeline samples the page's dominant accents and sets a matching gradient, in the editor and with look="brand" on the API.
    • CaptureCookie and consent banners are pre-answered for the common consent platforms, a Global Privacy Control signal is sent, and anything that still appears is declined, including inside iframes and shadow roots.
    • CaptureAnalytics and ad-pixel hosts are blocked during capture so a screenshot is never counted as a visit. Both behaviours are switchable on the API.
    • APIScreenshot packages: POST /api/v1/package renders a Product Hunt gallery, an App Store set, a launch kit or a docs set from one URL, one credit per shot.
    • APIMCP server 0.2 with screenshot_package, brand_colors and list_packages, ready-made prompts, and an agent skill that teaches assistants the whole workflow.
    • ToolsEvery tool page rebuilt: keyword-led headline, the tool between hairlines, how it works, questions, and related tools. One footer, no ads, no popups.
    • ToolsCrop gained fixed ratios; resize gained presets and PNG, JPG or WebP output; blur gained pixelate; the converter shows file size before download; the splitter previews its cut lines and downloads tiles individually.
    • ToolsThe image color picker has a magnified loupe and a palette strip; the icon library is a searchable hairline grid; the GIF maker shows frames as a reorderable grid.
    • SiteHomepage rebuilt around real examples: presets, devices, code, posts, the API, pricing with a live lifetime-seat meter, and a FAQ with structured data. The tools index is a searchable hairline grid.
    • SiteFull-width header. Devices, Code, Posts, API and Pricing scroll to their homepage sections. The theme toggle lives in the footer.
    • DesignInter declared at the root so portals, toasts and exports inherit it; exports embed the font.
    • EditorThe URL field's loading indicator spins in place, and an unreachable database fails in seconds with a clear message instead of a minute-long hang.

    v4.0

    Dropashot

Picyard becomes Dropashot. One editor for screenshots, code, device mockups and post cards; a screenshot API with prepaid credits and an MCP server; sessions that stay signed in; and a design system built on structure rather than boxes.

    • CompanyRenamed to Dropashot at dropashot.com. Old Picyard links redirect.
    • EditorA single editor replaces the separate screenshot, code, device and post pages. Modes are a segmented switch; the inspector is a set of collapsible groups with carets; export settings live in a menu on the Export button.
    • EditorPresets: twelve named looks, vivid gradients first, with the full set behind a disclosure. Undo history, keyboard nudges, near-square radii throughout.
    • EditorDevice frames fixed: iPhone 16 and 15 Pro are centred and uncropped, MacBook corners are clean, iPads and Apple Watch sit correctly in the frame.
    • EditorPost screenshots: paste a link and the editor detects X, Reddit, Bluesky or YouTube and renders the card. The old post pages redirect here.
    • EditorEmpty-state text adapts to the background tone so it is legible on any preset; the URL field is a single underlined line.
    • APIScreenshot API: POST /api/v1/screenshot turns a URL into a finished PNG with Bearer keys, one credit per shot and a refund on failure. Credit packs via Stripe; usage at /api/v1/usage.
    • APIMCP server published as dropashot-mcp, wrapping the HTTP API for AI assistants.
    • AuthSessions are a 90-day httpOnly cookie that slides on use, so signing in sticks. Magic links double as passwordless signup. Google One Tap on every page. Failed-login lockout.
    • AuthEmail signups are signed in by the verification link; a bad session returns a clean 401 instead of an error page.
    • DesignDesign tokens for light and dark, hairlines instead of cards, one filled action per surface, a top-nav site shell and a product-first homepage.
    • SiteSecrets removed from the repository, referer protection on the internal routes, and a zero-install local database for development.

    v3.6

    New ownership

Picyard changes hands. The ads come off every page and the palette settles on emerald while the new owners plan the rebuild.

    • CompanyPicyard is acquired. Pricing and the account pages are restructured for the handover.
    • SiteGoogle Ads removed from the tools and the editor.
    • DesignAccent colour unified on emerald across the tools and post pages.

    v3.4

    Capture from a URL

The editor can take the screenshot for you, and accounts get proper email flows.

    • CaptureEnter a URL in the editor and it is captured headlessly and dropped onto the canvas.
    • EditorClick to paste: the canvas accepts a clipboard image on click as well as with the keyboard.
    • AuthEmail signup with verification, forgot-password and reset-password flows.
    • SiteReferral tracking on the boilerplate page; internal API routes only answer requests from the site's own domain.
    • CompanyLifetime price set at $20 for a limited number of seats.

    • EditorCopy the finished image straight to the clipboard.
    • ToolsPaste-image-download improved.
